Wind power to the people

Civil wind parks are common in Denmark, Sweden and Germany. 300.000 danes have chosen to make an active contribution in this way.

Ownership in wind power projects gives the local community a relationship to the windmills, and also an opportunity to participate in the added value the windmills bring. Often companies are among the participants. In addition to an ecnomical investment the participants get an opportunity to make an active choice for renewable energy and a focus on the environment.

In our projects the owner of the property and entrepeneur will also be owners. So far we have launched Njåfjell Borgervindpark. With the Plusskraft-konseptet we have now formulated a plan for the carrying out of local ownership.

The picture shows Rønland windmillpark – located at Thyborøn on the Danish west coast. This windmillpark is also in great part a civil wind park.

An example of a citizen wind park is Middelgrunden in Denmark, located in the sea outside Copenhagen. You can read more about it at their homepage: www.middelgrunden.dk (in danish and english).
